The Kosovo Correctional Service announces that today, at around 03:10, inmate F.M. escaped from the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK).

The inmate in question had been hospitalized on 16.02.2026 from the Correctional Center in Dubrava to the UCCK, in the Oncology ward, second floor, room no. 2, together with other patients.

He was convicted of the criminal offense of Aggravated Theft, was arrested on 24.10.2025, and is serving a prison sentence of four (4) years. He was scheduled to be released on 08.06.2029.

Immediately after the incident, the Kosovo Police were notified and an internal administrative investigative commission was established to review the circumstances of the escape and the suspicions of possible violations by correctional officers who were responsible for his security and presence.

As an immediate measure, the disciplinary commission suspended two correctional officers from duty until the completion of the investigative procedures.

Upon receiving the report from the investigative commission, the Kosovo Correctional Service will undertake the appropriate measures in accordance with the findings and recommendations resulting from this process.
