At the invitation of the French Embassy, the delegations of the correctional services of the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of North Macedonia, led by the Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Ismail Dibrani, and the Director of the Correctional Services of North Macedonia, Aleksandar Pandov, stayed in Lyon, where they were welcomed by Paul Louchouarn, Regional Director of Interregional Services in the Lyon Region, and Denise Drillien, Head of the Mission Against Violent Radicalization, along with representatives of the French correctional and police systems.

The meetings focused on addressing issues related to terrorism and violent extremism, as well as strengthening institutional cooperation and exchanging professional experiences in managing security and high-risk cases.

The Director General of the KCS, Ismail Dibrani, presented the institution’s main achievements and developments. He spoke about the modernization of infrastructure, the advancement of rehabilitation programs, and the strengthening of professional capacities. Dibrani also presented Kosovo’s approaches and results in preventing violent extremism and managing terrorism-related cases within the correctional system.

During their stay in France, the delegation visited several correctional institutions, where they observed their practices and the French model of correctional institution management.

This visit serves as a valuable platform for deepening regional cooperation and raising common standards in the field of security and rehabilitation.
