The Kosovo Correctional Service has been awarded the International Award of Excellence by the International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) for the project “Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Health Care.”
This prestigious recognition was presented today during the ICPA Heads of Services Forum, held in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of the Association’s 27th Annual Conference.

The award was received by the General Director of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Mr. Ismail Dibrani, who, on behalf of the institution, thanked the ICPA organization for this high international recognition and emphasized that this success is the result of joint work, professionalism, and dedication of all the staff of the Kosovo Correctional Service.

This prestigious award represents a clear acknowledgment of the profound transformation that the Kosovo Correctional Service has undergone in recent years, for the commitment, professionalism, and vision of every employee who works every day with integrity and passion to build a more humane and efficient correctional system.

Special thanks are extended to the professionals of the Prison Health Department for their dedication, professionalism, and crucial role in implementing the award-winning project. This award also belongs to them.

Likewise, the Kosovo Correctional Service expresses gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as to the former Minister of Justice and the current Minister, for their continuous support in the path of institutional reform and transformation.

Sincere thanks are also extended to international partners — the U.S. Embassy, EULEX, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, and other organizations that have devotedly supported positive developments in the correctional system.

This award does not belong solely to the Kosovo Correctional Service — it is an award for Kosovo, for every voice that believes in change, rehabilitation, and human dignity.

The Kosovo Correctional Service will continue its path of transformation with even greater dedication, aiming to remain a leader in correctional reforms in the region and beyond.
