The Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Mr. Ismail Dibrani, together with the Deputy Director General, Mr. Ridvan Hoti, are participating in the annual conference of prison directors, organized by EuroPris, which this year is being held in Krakow, Poland.

This conference, which gathers every year the top leaders of correctional institutions from EuroPris member countries, marks a historic moment for Kosovo, as it is represented for the first time as an equal country and the newest member of this European organization.

As part of the official agenda, the delegation from Kosovo held a special meeting with the President of EuroPris, Ms. Caron McCaffrey, where progress made in the Kosovo Correctional Service, the strengthening of professional capacities, as well as the commitment to respect European standards in prison management were discussed.

Additionally, the leaders of KCS had separate meetings with counterparts from several European countries, exchanging experiences related to challenges and best practices in the management of correctional institutions, prisoner rehabilitation, and improvement of security conditions. These meetings were assessed as an important step toward strengthening international cooperation and Kosovo’s integration into the professional network of European countries.

Kosovo’s participation in this conference demonstrates the commitment of its institutions towards further advancement and at the same time confirms that the Kosovo Correctional Service is increasingly gaining trust and respect at the international level.
