Tennis Comes to Lipjan Prison – The First Court Opens in the Women’s Correctional Center

Today, at the Women’s Correctional Center in Lipjan, the new tennis court was officially inaugurated – a joint investment between the Kosovo Correctional Service and the Kosovo Tennis Federation. This is also an important step for the development of sports and the promotion of rehabilitation within the correctional system.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the General Director of KCS, Mr. Ismail Dibrani, the President of the Kosovo Tennis Federation, Mr. Jeton Hadërgjonaj, Kosovo’s male tennis representative, Mr. Naim Shehu, as well as the Director of the Women’s Correctional Center in Lipjan, Mr. Ylber Topalli.

During his speech, Director Dibrani emphasized the importance of such activities within the correctional system, stressing that sport is a powerful tool for rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society. He thanked the Tennis Federation for the cooperation and dedication shown.

President Hadërgjonaj highlighted that the Federation will continue to support initiatives that bring social value and positive impact to various communities, including correctional institutions.

The tennis court will be available to the inmates as part of the regular recreational and educational programs implemented at this center.

This investment aims to improve conditions for recreational and sports activities, as part of rehabilitation programs for female inmates. The KCS thanks the Tennis Federation for their cooperation and support in the realization of this project, which is of special importance to the institution.
