Today, at the Dubrava Correctional Center, the General Director of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Mr. Ismail Dibrani, together with the Minister of Justice, Ms. Albulena Haxhiu, welcomed the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Kosovo, Ms. Mary Ann Hennessey.

During the visit, Mr. Dibrani emphasized the importance that the Kosovo Correctional Service places on the treatment and rehabilitation of convicted persons, underlining that programs such as the one on the Treatment of Perpetrators of Violence Against Women are essential for preventing the recurrence of violence and reintegrating offenders into society with responsible behavior.

During the meeting with the staff and convicted individuals participating in the program, Mr. Dibrani highlighted the KCS’s commitment to implementing a rehabilitative approach, offering professional support through psycho-educational treatments and special programs that directly influence behavioral change.

Ten individuals convicted of domestic violence have successfully completed the second phase of the National Program for the Treatment of Perpetrators of Violence Against Women, a six-month program that includes building healthy relationships, emotional management, and raising awareness about the consequences of violence.

The Kosovo Correctional Service remains committed to advancing its role in the treatment and rehabilitation of convicted individuals, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and international partners.
