The Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service (KCS), Mr. Ismail Dibrani, met with the Head of the Correctional Unit of EULEX, Ms. Anu Melkko.

During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing cooperation between SHKK and EULEX, as well as the possibilities for deepening this cooperation in the future. As part of the meeting, Ms. Melkko delivered a donation of 350 drug tests for detecting narcotic substances, which will be used to strengthen internal controls and prevent abuse within the correctional institutions.

Director Dibrani thanked Ms. Melkko and the EULEX mission for their continued support, emphasizing that this donation will directly contribute to advancing security standards and professionalism in the Kosovo correctional system.

He also informed about some of SHKK’s recent achievements, including investments in professional staff training, improvements to the infrastructure of correctional centers, and the implementation of international standards in the treatment of prisoners and detainees.

At the end of the meeting, both parties committed to continuing their cooperation with a focus on concrete projects aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring a safe and rehabilitative environment in all correctional institutions in the country.
