Today, the General Director of Kosovo Correctional Service, Ismail Dibrani, welcomed in a meeting the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Xhelal Sveçla and the Minister of Justice, Mrs. Albulena Haxhiu, with whom they discussed the challenges, security in correctional institutions and the main achievements of the Kosovo Correctional Service.
During the meeting the discussion focused on improving working conditions in correctional institutions and advancing standards in line with the best international practices.
Following the presentation by Director Dibrani, Prime Minister Kurti praised the efforts of the Correctional Service in maintaining the security and well-being of prisoners, emphasizing the importance of reforms in the correctional system. He expressed the Government’s commitment to further invest in infrastructure and human capacities, in order to ensure the most dignified treatment for prisoners and improve working conditions for correctional staff.
At the end of the meeting, they agreed on the need for a coordinated and long-term approach to addressing the challenges in the Kosovo correctional system, aiming to improve conditions and advance standards that are in line with international norms.
